A cookie is a small file that a website saves on your device. It helps the site remember things, and it lets us and other companies see how the site is used. Some of the tools below do the same job without using a cookie. This policy covers all of them.
The first time you visit, a message appears at the bottom of the screen.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, nothing beyond what is needed to run the site loads until you choose. Everywhere else, the measurement and advertising tools run unless you turn them off.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
| Tool | Run by | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site preferences | U.S. Direct Hire | Remembers your cookie choice and the link you arrived from | Needed to run the site |
| Tally | Tally | Runs the eligibility form and our other forms | Needed to run the site |
| Google Fonts | Loads the typeface the site is set in | Needed to run the site | |
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages people read | Measurement | |
| Meta pixel | Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram | Tells us which advert brought you here, and lets Meta show our adverts to people like you | Advertising |
| YouTube | Plays the videos we have placed on some pages | Advertising |
The site works normally. The eligibility form still works and you can still apply. We simply stop counting your visit and stop passing information to Meta and Google about it.
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this site or other sites from working. Your browser may also offer a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting, which we honour where the law requires it.
We update this policy when the tools we use change. The date at the top shows when we last changed it.
